Privacy Policy

This site (“Gymnastipedia”, “we”) is an unofficial study companion to the FIG Women's Artistic Gymnastics Code of Points 2025–2028. You can browse the element tables, the calculator and the rules without an account. This policy explains what we collect when you do create an account, and why.

What we collect

• Email address — when you create an account. Used to sign you in, to verify the address, and for password resets.
• Password — stored only as a salted scrypt hash, never in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we store no password at all.
• Google profile basics — if you choose “Sign in with Google”, we receive your email address and Google account identifier from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• A session cookie (cop_session) — set when you sign in so you stay signed in. It is strictly necessary for the account feature, is httpOnly and same-site, and contains only a random session identifier. Because it is strictly necessary, no cookie consent banner is required; we disclose it here instead.
• Marketing consent — whether you opted in to occasional product-update emails, and when. This is optional, unchecked by default, and never required to sign up.

Calculator routines, learned shorthand and theme preference are stored locally in your browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

What we use it for

• Operating accounts: sign-in, email verification, password reset.
• Access control: some features are enabled per-account.
• Marketing email — only if you opted in. Every marketing email we ever send will include an unsubscribe link, and you can switch consent off at any time on your Account page.

We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers. Transactional email (verification, password reset) is delivered through Resend, our email provider, which processes the recipient address for that purpose. The account database is hosted on Netlify's database service (powered by Neon).

Retention & deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its data, email us at the contact address below from the account's email address and we will remove it. Expired sessions and one-time verification/reset tokens are short-lived by design.

Your choices

• Use the site without an account — Elements, Calculator and Rules are open.
• Toggle marketing consent on your Account page at any time.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by email.
